Through leaves
the flicker
of birds in flight
Ring
around a ragged moon
broken cloud
Almost touching their reflections
ducks arrow
the lakes length
One stone so many ripples
Wind blown leaves
my thought
become words
The random roll
of a plastic cup
down an empty street
An old rock
in the water
trailing bubbles
The trees
laughing
kookaburras
The mountains within
the hardest
to climb
Each fragile flower
ready to ride
the breeze
Jutting rocky outcrops all tumbledown too
Never knowing
where I'll land
I leap
Backlit
your eyes
beautiful
All
a sparrows life
a hawks' lunch
Reason my rock
washed loose
and rolling
Tree by tree
dissolves...
drifting rain
What wreckage this
washing up against
rocky reality

Micropoetry to May 2012
From puddle
to puddle
the sky and I
From nothing
to nothing
bubbles on the stream
Why not
I say
thinking of all the reasons
Adrift in time
awash on tides
too deep to fathom
As if flowers were taking flight
the air
blossoming butterflies
All my long years
and still these dark depths
unpumbed
My little boat
asail upon an ocean
dark miles deep
The years
wash over us
roll and polish us
'till at last
we shine
Seeing patterns
in a random background
finds the tiger
An ever deepening tapestry
this world
weaving itself
Earth
the colour
of autumn trees
I may be dreaming
but I've lived a lot longer
than the average butterfly
All
a sparrows life
a hawks' lunch
Your passing comment
still resonating
half a lifetime on
In the headlights
my shadow
touching the stars
Rain
paints the wind
wet
Backlit
your eyes
beautiful
Reason
my rock
washed loose and rolling
Cross referencing
everything I am and have been
this aging brain
Left of centre
somewhere
right of madness
wave
after wave
after wave
eon
upon eon
late afternoon
memory
my shadow
to puddle
the sky and I
From nothing
to nothing
bubbles on the stream
Why not
I say
thinking of all the reasons
Adrift in time
awash on tides
too deep to fathom
As if flowers were taking flight
